Lindy Cromo IEM-75 review

Lindy might not be a name you associate with headphones, but that could be set to change with the Crono IEM75. With giant, bulbous earpieces that look like miniature flying saucers, they’re certainly eye-catching.

The somewhat chunky design makes each earpiece appear far larger than the average pair of in-ears, but it's necessary to make room for the dual drivers inside each one. There's a 15mm driver for bass and mid-range paired with a 7mm tweeter for the high-end. They don't weigh significantly more than the average pair of earphones, but they stick out noticeably. Even so, they’re very comfortable, with multiple sizes of rubber earpieces bundled in the box.

The IEM75s impressed us with their surprisingly great balance of low-end and mid-range frequencies. The headphones had a tendency to add low-frequency rumble where it wasn't needed, but bass had real presence without overwhelming the rest of the frequency range. The mid-range was clean and clear and the high-end was mostly precise. Although very high frequencies weren't audible, hi-hats sounded clearer than on similarly priced in-ears.

The IEM-75s are ideal for commuters, as they barely leak any sound. They don't completely block out your surroundings, but they lessen the sound of your fellow passengers.

The best thing about the IEM75s is their price. They cost considerably less than other multiple driver in-ears and sound superb. They certainly aren't in budget territory, but if you don't mind the slightly larger ear pieces they’re a great buy.
