Galaxy Roses: Painting Flowers

Learn how to custom paint flowers and create beautiful galaxy roses below. Painting flowers is just so fun, easy, and a great project for teens and adults alike. Plus, once you know how to pain flowers you can customize for a wedding, prom, or any other special occasion that deserves some personalization.
For the longest time we have been wanting to learn how to make bright, beautiful custom roses. Many florists online carry a tie dye rose and they are quite beautiful, but they are expensive, so we set out to learn what products allowed you to dye your flowers, and roses, anyway you want.
Originally we thought we could split the stem, add into colored water, and the flowers would automatically soak up colored water and be beautiful.
While live roses DO soak up some colored water, splitting the stems to have multiple colors in each leaf as well as a super bright saturated color proved to be pretty difficult.
We also tested spray paints, hair sprays and glitter sprays – all that sadly killed the flowers.
Then we discovered a paint spray by Design Master called COLORTOOL.
Color Tool paints come in a variety of colors, Neons, and even chrome sprays like gold and silver, all which can be sprayed right onto flowers and still enjoy them live.

Do I have to use White Roses?
White roses can be notoriously hard to find, and while I tend to lean on buying light pink, yellow, white, or peach roses, you can really get any kinds of roses as the paint covers the entire petal.
Basically pick the prettiest ones!
Additionally you can pick out any other type of flowers like carnations, daisy’s, or even rose sprays.
Is this paint the same as Spray Paint?
NO! Spray paint will kill your roses.
This paint is LIVE FLOWER safe.
How to Spray Paint on Roses
To get started, use a light black spray around your roses, taking care to get all sides and spraying down into the rose to get the center.
You may need to turn your roses around to get all the sides.
Its better to spray lightly and far enough away until you understand how much spray is coming out before you just hard spray your roses, as the petals can get over saturated and droopy unnecessarily.
Then take your Pink glow paint and spritz around each side of the rose, only doing a partial of each.
Now, taking the Turquoise paint, spray around the other parts of the rose, going on in a galaxy pattern.
Once you are pleased with your colors, put a tiny bit of white acrylic paint into a bowl.
Dip your brush and using your finger to pull back the bristles, flick bits of paint back onto the roses to create stars and shooting stars, finishing up your rose.
You have created Galaxy Roses!
This idea is perfectly duplicatable for other fun designs and great for custom wedding bouquets.

Notes
Glitter: You can use a light dusting of glitter on your roses if you sprinkle while the paint is still wet to help it stick.
